Engcomp and SDG announce alliance to serve Canadian mining and resource industries

The alliance between Saskatoon-based engineering firm with American management consultants will provide strategic decision consulting services to clients in mining and resource industries.

Engcomp, a Saskatoon-based consulting engineering firm serving the heavy industrial market, and U.S.-based management consulting firm Strategic Decisions Group have formed a strategic alliance to advise Canadian companies in mining and related industries on strategy and risk management.

“This alliance combines SDG’s world-class capabilities in strategy development and Engcomp’s deep experience in risk analysis and engineering to provide a broad range of services to the Canadian heavy industrial market,” said Jason Mewis, P.Eng., president and senior engineer with Engcomp, in a company release.

The alliance will provide strategic decision consulting services to clients in mining and resource industries, including related downstream industries. “This alliance brings a unique capability to quantify and make transparent the tradeoffs of value and risk in volatile markets,” said Mr. Mewis. “Many companies in the resource industry will find tremendous value from applying this approach in their decision making.”
