Ground breaking for Canarm’s expansion n Brockville: (l-r) Brockville Mayor Jason Baker; Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes MPP Steve Clark; MP Michael Barrett; Canarm president/COO, Jim Cooper; Canarm chairman/CEO, David Beatty; and Brad Snelling, of D.C. Snelling Ltd.

Canarm Ltd., a global marketer and manufacturer of lighting, air moving and related products, has broken ground on the expansion of its facility in Brockville, Ont., a centre of excellence for the company’s commercial/industrial HVAC products.

In recent years, Canarm has doubled its HVAC production area at the facility to 100,000 sq. ft., investing in modern manufacturing technology and robotics.

The new expansion will add an additional 90,000 sq. ft. to its existing structure in two phases to be completed over the next several years. The first addition will be used primarily for warehousing so existing space can re-focus on manufacturing.

Phase one, which will begin by the end of August, will see the addition of approximately 57,000 sq. ft., and phase two will allow for the addition of 32,000 sq. ft. as required.
