Binnie acquires Omni Engineering

The two Vancouver-area firms combine to provide a broad range of services across Western Canada.

Western-Canadian civil engineering firm Binnie has acquired Omni Engineering, a Vancouver-based engineering services and consulting firm focused on municipal, industrial, and port related sectors for over 30 years.

Binnie, employee-owned and managed, has been operating out of British Columbia since 1969 engineering infrastructure solutions for a range of clients, working with municipal and provincial governments, ports, forestry, transit, and hydro.

The firm’s engineering services extending to traffic planning, transportation, project management, construction management, design build contracts management (as owner’s engineer) and more. Binnie has offices in Burnaby, Squamish, Surrey, Prince George, Kamloops and Calgary.

“We are the people behind the infrastructure you use everyday and this acquisition marks an important step in the ongoing growth and diversification of Binnie,” said James Martens, AScT, vice president and COO at Binnie, in a company news release. “Building on our strong reputation for engineering infrastructure growth, I’m excited to strengthen our ability to deliver projects for our clients that continue to build and connect communities.”

As of April 2, 2018, Omni Engineering Inc. has been located at Binnie’s new head office in Burnaby, operating as a Division of Binnie.
