April 19 - April 20, 2017
Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel 123 Queen St W Toronto ON M5H 2M9

automated vehiclesAutomated vehicles (AVs)—more popularly known as driverless cars—offer numerous societal benefits. Enhanced personal mobility (particularly for “car-less” populations), a decline in the number of injuries and fatalities, increased productivity due to freed up time while travelling, and reduced congestion are just some of the anticipated benefits. As a disruptive technology that is poised to change the ways in which people and goods are moved, there will be numerous impacts within and between our cities. Given there is public and government support for sustainable and complete communities, it’s even more important that we make sure that these priorities thrive in light of AVs.
