Architects and building owners offered grants for energy savings

The Ontario Power Authority is offering incentives to both building owners and their architects as part of a program to reduce electricity demand.
Unfortunately, there is no mention of payouts being given to the building engineers — the ones perhaps most directly responsible for achieving the energy savings!
The new conservation programs are being offered through the city of Toronto in that city, and through Enbridge Gas Distribution in the rest of Ontario.
New construction and buildings undergoing substantial renovations are eligible for the cash incentives. Every type of building except single family homes are eligible, including affordable houses, institutions, commercial and industrial buildings.
The payouts will be given for projects that exceed the Model National Energy Code for buildings. Building owners will be eligible to receive up to $400 for every kilowatt saved. Architects will be entitled to up to $100 per kilowatt saved.
