An advanced voice evacuation system has been introduced by Notifier. The XPIQ Quad Intelligent AudioTransponder is an integrated, multi-channel audio amplification and distribution subsystem remotely controlled by a fire alarm control panel through a signalling line circuit. By using a software program and internal switching capability, the XPIQ eliminates the need for relays and complex wiring during installation. It is compatible with Notifier’s complete line of voice evacuation intelligent fire alarm panels. The XPIQ also includes a background music input terminal block, allowing the same speaker system to be used for background music. Other features include up to four continuously supervised 25-watt amplifiers, firefighter telephone zones capable of distinguishing open, short and off-hook states, ground fault detection and a serial port for configuration download from a PC.

Siemens Cerberus has Wide Area Network communications for the entire MXL product series. This is accomplished with two modules, the NIM-1W and the NIM-1M. When dedicated 18 gauge copper wire is used, MXL system information can be transmitted up to eight miles, while unlimited communication distance can be obtained with dedicated lines conditioned for 19.2K-baud communication.

The Fire-Finder NT Network Command Center by Siemens Cerberus provides a Windows NTR base central point of control and annunciation for both the remote and local MXL life safety systems. It has a user-friendly design to guide the operator to take appropriate action.
