Consulting engineers BBA of Mont Saint-Hilaire, east of Montreal in Quebec have won a contract to do a pre-feasibility study for Canada Lithium. The study is to focus on a deposit of Spodumene (lithium aluminum silicate) located 60 kilometres north of Val d’Or in Quebec.  In the mid 1900s the site supported an underground mine and processing plant, and Canada Lithium is now drilling 5,000 metres and doing studies for battery-grade lithium carbonate.

The study is valued at $500,000 and includes preliminary engineering of the mine, a concentrator, hydrometallurgical plant and project infrastructure. The four-month study is to be completed by BBA’s mines and metals group during the 1st quarter of 2010.
