With 20 large bridges, elevated roads and tunnels forming critical transportation links, Vancouver is extra vulnerable to an earthquake. The Oak Street Bridge shown here is one of several bridges being seismically upgraded as a precaution against disaster. Klohn-Crippen did the structural and seismic design, and MacLeod Geotechnical did the geotechnical work.
