ALARMS

Fire-Lite Alarms’ has introduced the enhanced ACC-25/50DA audio evacuation panel which gives over 1,500 watts of sound. The ACC-25/50ZS zone splitter panel can handle 24 separate audio circuits. www.firelite.com

The Onyx commercial fire alarms from Notifier now include the Digital Voice Command, a firefighters’ evacuation paging and telephone system. As well, the Onyx FirstVision is a PC-based touch screen wayfinding navigational tool for emergency responders. www.notifier.com

Digital Monitoring Products has added to its 1100-series of two-way wireless receivers and transmitters. Enhancements are a new 1142 panic pendant to reduce false alarms, and a radiant blue glass keypad and wall backlighting known as Clear Touch. www.dmp.com

Building upon the Z-wave network, Intermatic Wireless Controls has introduced the InTouch System for residential units that uses a network-wide information and distributed processing system. The InTouch server provides full two-way, real-time status and control of every device in the network, whether it is for lighting, security or other systems. www.intermatic.com

LIGHTING

The Acriglo Photoluminescent Series of acrylic sheets for lighting systems is made by Acrilex. The material’s photoluminescent pigment (magnesium strontium silicate) lasts hours and provides illumination on par with moonlight to augment emergency lighting. The sheets can be swapped into lenses of overhead lighting fixtures or adapted into other lighting fixtures in corridors, elevators, bathrooms, etc. www.acrilex.com

Prescolite, a division of Hubbell Lighting, has introduced, FireTight, a patented and UL-approved recessed downlighting to achieve fire rated ceilings. With a heavy 23 gauge galvanized steel housing, the fixture incorporates seven pieces of fire-rated sheetrock as well as a fire-retardant blanket gasket which seals off gaps between the bottom of the frame and the topside of the ceiling material. Victaulic has introduced the Advanced Groove System, a “ground breaking” new joining system for 14* to 24* large diameter pipe. The system has a wedge-shaped groove to provide pressure ratings up to 350 psi and a robust housing profile. Flexible sprinkler systems by Flexhead have been successfully tested at full scale for seismic requirements in accordance with the International Code Council standard ICC AC-156. POWER PROTECTION

First Sentinel Technologies of Waterloo, Ontario has created an online software tool called eZfireplan to enable engineers and owners in Canada to create fire safety plans and comply with fire codes. www.eZfireplan.com

SURVEILLANCE

Bosch Security Systems has added the Dinion IP camera. It has internet connectivity with Power-over-Ethernet capability to maintain surveillance even during power outages. Also, Bosch’s G-Series Control Panels can now be used with the company’s Security Engine software to tie unlimited numbers of control panels together, governing intrusion, fire detection and access. www.boschsecurity.us
