2000 National Convention underscores cross-border business relations

Delegates to the 2000 ACEC National Convention will have the rare opportunity to attend both the Canadian and American national meetings this coming May 13 to 16 in both Niagara Falls, Ontario and Buffalo, New York.

In honour of this joint industry gathering, business delegates are welcome to attend each organization’s meetings and seminars. Seminars on the Canadian side of the border will focus on stimulating closer business ties between Canadian and U.S. firms. We are sure that there is interest in this subject as 57% of respondents to the 1999 ACEC Business survey identified the U.S. market as the single most important export market for them. For the first time, the 2000 National Convention will also feature a day-long technical seminar for junior and middle managers of member firms, as well as a small trade show for those who want to go the extra mile in marketing their firms and services.

On the lighter side, events include tours of Niagara wineries, a visit to historic Buffalo, a local flavour evening in Niagara Falls and a “Ryder Cup” style golf tournament.

Details on registration and accommodations are forthcoming, both by mail and on the ACEC web site at www.acec.ca
