Siemens Building Technologies, Inc. has introduced the Powermite 599 MZ Series zone control valves and valve actuators. These 1/2″ to 1″ valves and SSB81U actuators join the Powermite 599 MT Series class 250 1/2 to 1″ bronze body valves, AP 599 Series 2″ pneumatic valve actuator and SQS Series electronic valve actuators.

Zenon Environmental Inc. has announced the Zenon Membrane Technology Prize to honour the most innovative and practical applications of membrane technology for water treatment. The U.S. $10,000 prize will be given yearly, alternating between the fields of wastewater and water purification. Abstracts due December 15.

Autodesk, Inc. has announced several new civil engineering software products based on its Design 2000 initiative. AutoCAD Land Development Desktop Release 2 includes the functionality of AutoCAD Map 2000 Software and contains specialized features such as COG and map creation, terrain modeling, alignments, parcels and project data management.
Autodesk Civil Design Release 2 is a powerful add-on package to AutoCAD Land Development Desktop Release 2, offering integrated functions, enhancements to the ObjectARX-based grading function and features such as multiple sheet layouts. Another add-on, Autodesk Survey Release 2, provides focused survey data input, reduction and analysis.
