Thanks to donations of time and money from engineering firms and construction and manufacturing companies, children in Manitoba have their own museum to learn about engineering infrastructure. The WonderWorks Gallery opened in the Manitoba Children’s Museum in Winnipeg last May. Among the exhibits is an operating model of the Shoal Lake Aqueduct system, a road built through the museum showing the different kinds of surface, and–most popular no doubt–a see-through toilet. Consulting engineering firms who contributed are Reid Crowther & Partners, Wardrop Engineering, Nova 3 Engineering, D-S Lea Consultants and Stantec Consulting.
