WORK ABROAD

Delcan of Toronto in joint venture with DHV from Holland is developing an intelligent transportation system (ITS) master plan for a new 680-kilometre highway in northern Greece. The Egnatia Highway crosses from Igoumenitsa in the west across mountainous terrain to the Greek-Turkish border on the east coast, and connects with Albania, Romania and Bulgaria.

SNC-Lavalin has signed a cooperation agreement with the Government of Moscow to implement a rapid transit system between Sheremetievo airport and the city centre. SNC-Lavalin and the Canadian International Development Agency funded a feasibility study for the project last year. The engineers are now helping with a technical and economic analysis, and preparing a business and financing plan for the U.S. $150 million first phase.
