Softek Services is introducing S-Frame 9.0. It is a much faster solver for large structures, employing the symmetric sparse column (SSC) format. It also supports North American seismic building codes and the calculation of storey forces. Other features include a more flexible algorithm for meshing shells, and allowance of multiple instances of the interface, each with the ability to automatically divide a structure into logical folders of elements. www.s-frame.com
Autodesk has added two new structural analysis programs to its building information modeling (BIM) solutions. The Robot Structural Analysis 2009 software and Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Professional 2009 software are tightly integrated with Revit Structure 2009. They allow structural engineers to incorporate BIM in the structural analysis and design of buildings, civil structures, etc. www.autodesk.com
