In the October-November 2000 issue of Canadian Consulting Engineer an article appeared entitled “A Twist of Truth” written by Norman R. Ball. The article referred to expert evidence given in small claims court by a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia in 1995.

We acknowledge that the article may have misinterpreted some of the facts of the case and apologize for any misunderstandings.

Subsequent to the trial the professional conduct of the member involved was investigated through the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia complaint procedure. The committee did not find evidence that the member had acted unprofessionally or exceeded his knowledge or expertise and closed the file with no further action.
