ACEC President Boivin Says Farewell

After more than six and a half years as ACEC President, Mr. Claude Paul Boivin, CAE, announced his resignation, effective June 6, 2008. Mr. Boivin will be taking on the position of Executive Director of the Canadian Dental Association, the professional body of Canada’s 18,000 dentists.

Mr. Boivin expressed his thanks to all those with whom he worked for their support over the years. “We can be proud of what we achieved together to advance the cause of the profession and the industry,” said Mr. Boivin. “A lot was accomplished, and we had great fun doing it — I can think of no better way to work,” concluded Mr. Boivin.

The ACEC Board of Directors and staff were saddened to learn of Mr. Boivin’s departure, but wish him well as he undertakes this new opportunity. “Even though he is not an engineer, Claude Paul has been a terrific ambassador for our profession and our industry. He is a quality individual, whom I have truly enjoyed working with for the past six years. On beager half of all our Member Organizations, the member firms and the Board of Directors of ACEC, I want to wish Claude Paul all the best as he takes on this new challenge,” expressed ACEC Chairman of the Board, Mr. Leon Botham, P. Eng.
