Webinar: Architectural Aerodynamics—The Art of Shaping Building Form in a Wind Tunnel
April 20, 2017
This presentation will give a brief overview of the wind related issues in the design of high rises and, through a series of project examples, discuss various shaping strategies and how simple and effective modifications to building form help in optimizing design.
Learning objectives:
- Gain an appreciation for the aerodynamic and meteorological variables involved in wind engineering.
- Gain an understanding of wind-induced phenomena that cause high wind loads and serviceability issues.
- Discuss various shaping strategies.
- Discuss specific building projects where Shape Optimization Strategies have been effective.
Presented by Jason Garber, M.E.SC., P.Eng., M.ASCE, Senior Wind Engineering Specialist
