+PlaceMaker: The Resilient City
April 27, 2017
301 Adelaide St. West
Toronto, ON M5V 2E8
Resilience planning helps cities prepare for extreme weather, stresses like social inequity, aging infrastructure, housing and transportation challenges, and the longer term effects of a changing climate. Assessing and understanding the interdependencies between different urban services and stakeholders is a key to addressing the complexities of creating a more resilient city.
In May 2016 Toronto joined 99 other cities from around the world when it became a member of the 100 Resilient Cities network. Join CUI on April 27th to learn from the City of Toronto and experts in power, transportation, the natural environment and community services about the importance of understanding the complexities and interdependencies of urban systems in developing actionable plans for more resilient cities.
