The Passive House Canada Conference will bring together building professionals, manufacturers and suppliers who, today, deliver the buildings to be mandated by future building codes. There are a multitude of Passive House buildings built, under construction or in design across Canada and in Vancouver, a more developed market for high performance buildings, Passive House buildings now represent 20% of rezoning applications. In the past few years, the international Passive House standard of energy efficiency has transformed from fringe to mainstream parts of Canada.

At the Passive House Conference, participants can expect to participate in engaging and interactive sessions that will further enhance their knowledge of the standard. Those new to the standard will find opportunities to network and learn from other Passive House enthusiasts.

The Passive House Conference takes place in conjunction with the Canadian Wood Council’s Wood Solutions Conference and the UNECE’s Committee on Forests and Forest Industry. By partnering with these organizations, BC has the opportunity to move its Climate Leadership Plan forward and Vancouver to advance Zero Emission Buildings. This conference will demonstrate that wood and high-performance buildings are at the centre of a sustainable future.

Never has the global policy context been as unified or as relevant as it is to Canadian practitioners today. Build Smart – Canada’s Buildings Strategy, has set our country on a course of incredible market transformation.

As the implications of this federal and provincial climate action agreements and initiatives become more widely understood, Canadians in the design and construction sector will experience a rapid increase in the number of high performance buildings being delivered.

Passive House standard sets the benchmark and, more importantly, reliably delivers results. Canada and the world require the performance levels Passive House provides, including co-benefits such as comfort, health, affordability, resilience, and indoor air quality.

This conference offers the opportunity to all participants to become Partners in Transformation and drive the attainment of national and global emission reduction targets.
