ACEC-BC Event: LNG in British Columbia

January 12, 2016
Hyatt Regency Hotel, 655 Burrard Street, Vancouver

There is an estimated 2,000 trillion cubic feet of natural gas in Northeastern BC. It’s enough to not only fulfill local needs and global demand, but supply LNG export operations and domestic needs for 150 years.

And the demand is there: China alone expects to use 17.5 trillion cubic feet of natural gas per year by 2040.

With BC’s exporting history of natural gas (to the US), coupled with the new global markets, the province seems to be ideally positioned to develop a new industry to produce LNG.

What steps can ACEC-BC and the membership take to support the BC LNG Alliance and the various proponents? Join David Keane, President of the BC LNG Alliance to hear his thoughts on the current state of negotiations, what decisions need to be made for the projects to proceed and how the consulting engineering community can be a part of the future LNG projects.
