The magnitude 9.0 earthquake that hit Japan and the Fukushima nuclear plant in March moved the seafloor much more than scientists originally thought.
The magnitude 9.0 earthquake that hit Japan and the Fukushima nuclear plant in March moved the seafloor much more than scientists originally thought.
The latest analysis suggests the ocean bed moved as much as 16 metres vertically and 50 metres laterally — the length of half a football field.
