The World Bank has arranged to give $166 million in interest-free credits to reconstruct Afghanistan communities after the war. The investment includes U.S. $40 million to support an emergency project to rehabilitate the national irrigation system in the country’s five river basins.
The Bank is also directing U.S. $31 million to install emergency customs and communications infrastructure at border crossing stations and Kabul airport.
