Mr. George R. Comrie, P.Eng. of Wardrop Engineering in Toronto has become President of Professional Engineers Ontario.
Currently the manager of transportation systems at Wardrop, Mr. Comrie was previously founder and president of Data Design Systems. He has engineering degrees from the University of Toronto’s industrial engineering program and became a licensed engineer practitioner in 1973.
Comrie says his priorities for his term of office at PEO over the year 2004-2005 will be improving PEO’s governance and accountability, as well as developing closer ties with the engineering community.
As president of PEO, Mr. Comrie leads an organization that has over 65,000 professional engineers and engineering interns. PEO licenses and governs the practice of engineering in the province.
