URGENT – Brownfields Awards looking for entries

The Globe Foundation is seeking submissions for a new award for “Excellence in Brownfield Redevelopment.”
The award is given for the best use and most interesting development of a Canadian brownfield site by a public or private sector organization or consortium. Brownfields are generally old industrial sites, often in downtown areas, that have fallen into disuse and need to have pollutants and contamination removed before they can be redeveloped.
The brownfields award is one of several 2004 Globe Awards which will be presented in Vancouver on April 2 at the Globe Conference Gala Dinner.
The deadline for submissions is February 6, 2004.
