ASHRAE, the American Society of Heating Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, has issued the first of a series of training modules, consisting of 3-6 hour presentations with handouts, instructors’ materials and a series of PowerPoint slides.
The first module, “Humidity Control in Commercial Buildings” was developed by Lew Harriman and is designed for HVAC professionals. The next module being developed is on ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1- 2001, Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low Rise Residential Building. It should be available this spring. Cost is US $800. The first edition of the Canadian standard for the installation of Hydronic Heating Systems has been published. The Canadian Standards Association CSA International B214-01 Installation Code for Hydronic Heating Systems was prepared by a subcommittee on hydronic heating systems of the technical committee on oil burning equipment.
