Shortly after beginning to trade on the New York Stock Exchange, Stantec has announced a proposed merger with a U.S. consulting company.<br>
The Edmonton based consulting engineering company — one of Canada’s largest — announced it is proposing a merger with The Keith Companies (TKC), a publicly traded, multi-disciplinary engineering consulting company located in the Western and Mid-Western U.S. The Keith Companies also has a division in Michigan. Founded in 1983, the multi-discipline company employs approximately 800 professionals in 15 divisions and has a head office in Irvine, California. <br>
The Keith Companies offer a full spectrum of services in both infrastructure, environmental, power and manufacturing. <br>
The proposed merger is subject to a special meeting of the Keith Companies shareholders on September 15. <br>
Stantec employs 4,500 people in over 50 locations in North America and the Caribbean. <br>
