Stantec has announced that Mark Jackson will become the company’s Chief Operating Officer (COO). As such, he will oversee the day to day management of the company’s operations and practices. These roles were previously held by Stantec’s President and Chief Executive Officer. The COO position was created to manage the increasing demands of the rapidly growing organization.
Mr. Jackson will operate from his Kitchener, Ontario office. He came to Stantec in 1997 when his firm Paragon Engineering of Kitchener joined Stantec. Since then he has held senior leadership roles within the company, including senior vice president of environmental infrastructure and most recently, senior vice president for the environment practice throughout North America. He graduated from the University of Waterloo in civil engineering in 1975.
Also at Stantec, Paul Allen has been appointed Senior Vice President for the Urban Land practice. Mr. Allen will manage over 1,600 staff throughout the United States and Canada. He has a degree in civil engineering from Queen’s University at Kingston and joined Paragon Engineering in 1986. He will also operate out of the Kitchener office.
