Stantec, Canada’s second-largest consulting engineering firm, has acquired the RPA Group based in Toronto. RPA is a 100-member firm established in 1969 as one of the first companies to do project management as a stand-alone service. It has worked on such projects as the Air Canada Centre and Skydome in Toronto, General Motors Place and the SkyTrain Expansion in Vancouver.
The RPA Group is the ninth acquisition for Stantec since January. It has bought firms in Saskatchewa, B.C., Alberta, Ontario, California and South Carolina.
Brian Sirbovan, PEng., RPA President, who will remain with Stantec as vice-president of the project management practice area, said that joining Stantec creates “enhanced opportunities” in a press release.
