SM Group, a large consulting engineering firm based in Montreal, has announced the acquisition of Frappier & Genier.
Frappier and Genier was founded in 1979 and has operated in Valleyfield, Quebec for more than 25 years and Quebec City since 2004. It specializes in municipal engineering, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering for public and private sector buildings, and in industrial engineering for such clients as Proctor & Gamble, Cascades, Sidbec, and Goodyear Canada.
“Given the geographic distribution of our new partner’s operations, this acquisition consolidates our visibility in Southwestern Qubec, the St. Maurice Valley, and Quebec City,” noted Bernard Poulin, president and chief executive officer of SM Group. “The reputation for excellence enjoyed by engineers Pierre Frappier and Serge Genier will enable us to embark on further expansion, and will contribute to SM Group’s credibility in parts of the country where we lacked a representation.”
Founded in 1972, S.M. Group International offices in Quebec and in 22 countries, including North and South America, Asia, Africa, and Europe. The firm employs some 650 professionals.
