Engineering students from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario came fourth in the 2003 World Solar Challenge in Australia. The team and their solar car Gemini completed the 3,010-kilometre route across the country in 41 hours and 45 minutes. Theirs was the only Canadian team to participate in the annual international race. Ontario Power Generation is the team’s lead corporate sponsor.
A car by MIT, and two other private teams placed in the top three.
