The Quebec government succeeded in passing its budget on June 1.
The $43.8-billion budget includes $30 billion over five years to renovate hospitals, schools and roads.
The opposition Parti Quebecois had objected to the budget because it included a $950-million income tax cut. However, the PQ came to an agreement with the minority Liberal party of Premier Jean Charest to pass the budget in order to avoid an election.
