Quebec construction workers sitting pretty

The pleasures of using a chemical porta-potty will soon be a thing of the past for construction workers in Quebec when they’re on sites that employ more than 25 workers.
The Quebec government has approved a new rule that will require contractors to provide a heated washroom with running water for these larger construction sites.
According to a CBC Montreal report, Quebec is the last jurisdiction in North America to establish the rule and the Quebec Labour Federation has been seeking the privilege of “real” loos for over a decade.
Yves Ouellet, director-general of the labour union, told the CBC: “Everywhere we say to people ‘You have to wash your hands to stop the spread of contagious diseases.’ It’s bizarre because in construction, nobody cared.”
The rule will be introduced gradually over the next six months, starting with the largest construction sites.
