Vancouver consulting engineers ND LEA will be helping China improve its transportation systems. The Honourable Susan Whelan, Minister for International Cooperation, announced October 2 in Vancouver that the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) will provide $5 million to the project. ND LEA is to do the work in concert with TTA Technology Training Associates Limited of Vancouver.
China had requested the Canadian technical expertise in roads for the western provinces where conditions are similar to those in western and northern Canada. The Canadian firms will provide training, planning and road management.
The announcement was made as part of International Development Days, an event taking place in Vancouver October 2 to 4.
