Peter Washchyshyn, P.Eng. of Winnipeg has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of ND LEA, a consulting engineering firm with its base in Vancouver. One of its most recent projects was managing the design and construction of the Millennium Line extension to Vancouver’s SkyTrain project. The firm was also Owner’s engineer for the Lions Gate Bridge rehabilitation.
Washchyshyn is now reposinsible for all the firm’s operations in Canada, Asia and the Caribbean.
In a statement, he said the company’s business will grow at least 12-15% over the next several years. “Employment will grow at the same pace,” he said.
He also had some general comments about the changing role of the consulting engineering industry: “At one time we were those folks behind the scenes, testing, drawing, analyzing. today we do more overall management, public consultation, front an dcentre on projects under way.”
Washchyshyn has recently been President of the Association of Professional Engineeers and Geoscientists of Manitoba and of Consulting Engineers of Manitoba.
Paul McNeil has been appointed as the new President of ND LEA’s Winnipeg operations. Carmine Militano is a new Vice-President in Winnipeg and Richard Tebinka retains his position as Vice President.
