The new President of the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering is Alistair MacKenzie. MacKenzie, a professor of the Architectural Science Department of Ryerson University in Toronto, has written several articles on engineering history for Canadian Consulting Engineer over the past few years. His latest was “Professional Rivalry” about the dispute over who should take credit for the Victoria Bridge in Montreal which appeared in the recent March-April issue of the magazine (see Print Edition, Archives).Professor MacKenzie came to Canada from Scotland in 1978 and worked as a design engineer, construction planner and manager for Wimpey International.
