The Ontario Region of the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CISC) held its 18th annual awards on May 15 at the Toronto Congress Centre.
Three awards of excellence were given. The award of excellence in the engineering category went to Rogers Sportsnet, Halsall Associates, structural engineers; Ware Malcomb, architect; EllisDon, general contractor; and Benson Steel, steel fabricator.
The award of excellence in the green buildings category went to the Kingston LVEC Arena — Halcrow Yolles, structural engineers; Brisbin Brook Beynon architects, EllisDon general contractor, and Benson Steel, steel fabricator.
In the architectural category, the award of excellence went to the Southbrook Winery — Blackwell Bowick Partnership, structural engineers; Diamond & Schmitt architects; Merit Contractors, general contractors; Mirage Steel, steel fabricator.
