Golder Associates has announced a merger with GAIA Consultants of Calgary, a firm that specializes in geographic information systems (GIS).
The Gaia personnel will be added to Golder’s GeoGraphic Information Services Group in Calgary, expanding the office to 44 full-time employees.
Gaia was established in 1989 as a geomatics firm. Golder Associates is an employee owned company which was founded in Canada in 1960 and has grown to have over 3,000 professional employees in 80 offices throughout North America and the world.
Jim Bowen, who was president of Gaia Consultants, has been appointed as an associate at Golder and will take an active role as a senior member of its GIS group management team. Robert van Wyngaarden of Golder is director of the GeoGraphic Information Services Group.
