GENIVAR of Montreal continues to ramp up its expansion into Ontario with the purchase of Day and Behn Engineering Inc. of Toronto.
Day and Behn have been operating since 1987, specializing in mechanical, electrical and lighting for buildings.
“This will be an excellent fit for GENIVAR,” said Moe Ettehadieh, vice president of Genivar’s Ontario operations.
One of the principals, Jurgen Behn, will be in charge of Genivar’s electrical and lighting design in the greater Toronto area. The other, Barry Day, will become partner in charge of Genivar’s mechanical engineering division in Toronto.
Genivar traces its roots back to 1959 and currently has a professional staff of more than 1,200 in Canada, Africa and the Caribbean.
