A former president of a Toronto consulting engineering firm was made President of Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) on April 16.
Mr. Robert A. Goodings, P.Eng. will lead the organization that licenses 66,000 professional engineers and interns in the province over the 2005/2006 period. He succeeds George R. Comrie, P.Eng. in the position.
Mr. Goodings was both president and chair of Gore & Storrie, a well-known firm which subsequently became part of CH2M Hill. Throughout his 45-year career he was involved in infrastructure planning in water and wastewater systems across Canada and in other parts of the world.
He also chaired the committee that created the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers in April 2000, the voluntary advocacy organization for professional engineers in the province. Goodings served as the society’s first chair.
