Located about 100km south of Edmonton, plant upgrades will include a new pumping station for wastewater collection and treatment.
A recent sod-turning ceremony in Samson Cree Nation, located about 100km south of Edmonton, marked the start of construction to upgrade the community’s wastewater plant.
The facility will be upgraded to include a new pumping station for wastewater collection and treatment and is Samson’s largest federally-funded infrastructure project to date.
The Government of Canada has invested $32.5 million into the project, which includes funding for construction, project management and First Nation administration.
The project is expected to be completed in the winter of 2020.
