Earth Tech has won a $15-million contract, to design and provide construction management for new odour control systems at the Ashbridges Bay Treatment Plant in Toronto. The plant, along the eastern waterfront of the city, is the largest secondary wastewater treatment plant in Canada, and one of the oldest.
In collaboration with Stantec Consulting, Earth Tech will design and oversee the construction of a central air collection and treatment system for the plant. Several smaller systems will also be added to the sewage pumping stations.
This latest contract is part of a $130 million capital improvement program at Ashbridges Bay to end the incineration of sludge and improve the odour control. Earth Tech has already designed some odour control and biosolids loading facilities at the plant.
