Dessau-Soprin of Montreal has won a contract to do the design and engineering of a 60-MW hydroelectric power plant in southern Chile.
The project, worth US $70 million, is for Hidrosur S.A.’s Rucatayo plant. The station will have two groups of turbo-generators producing more than 300 GWh of electricity per year. The contract includes a 220-kV power line over 36 kilometres to link the plant to an existing substation.
The work will be done by Dessau-Soprin’s subsidiary in Chile, a company called Ingentra, in consortium with EDIC of Santiago.
