WEAC Lecture, York UniversityThe 4th annual Claudette MacKay-Lassonde Fall Forum is being held this Saturday, October 25, 2003 at York University, in northwest Toronto. The lecture is presented by the Women in Engineering Advisory Committee of the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers, and will be held in the Computer Science and Engineering Building beginning at 9.30 a.m. Keynote speaker is Bob McDonald, award-winning host of CBC’s Quirks and Quarks. CEBC Calls for Entries
Consulting Engineers of British Columbia is calling for entries to its annual Awards program. The deadline for receipt of intents to submit is November 28, with January 20 next year as the final deadline. Cost is $250 per submission. Telephone 604-687-2811, or e-mail info@cebc.org

CANSTRUCTION in Toronto, November 12
Engineers who like building and food might have fun taking part in the annual CANSTRUCTION event at the Toronto-Dominion Centre in downtown Toronto. The event is being held on Wednesday, November 12 from 5 p.m to 12 a.m. and will involve teams of engineers, architects and design professionals who will create structures built entirely of canned and packaged foods. All food is afterwards donated to the Daily Bread Food Bank.
