Martin Jobke has been appointed vice-president and general manager of the British Columbia operations of Associated Engineering. Mr. Jobke is a civil engineer with 23 years of experience in bridge engineering. He joined Associated Engineering in 1987. President and CE O, Kerry Rudd, made the announcement.<br>
Also at Associated Engineering, Jason Horner has been made operations manager at the Saskatoon office, Carma Holmes has been made operations manager of the Regina office, and Bob Hawboldt is now manager of the water and environmental group in Saskatoon.<br>
On December 1, Didier Pfleger joined AMEC as Chief Operating Officer, Power and Process. Aged 43, Mr. Pfleger joins AMEC from ABB’s Robotics division where he was head of business unit systems. He previously worked with Alstom Energy and Alstom Power.<br>
Stantec continues to buy up firms — this time adding to its architecture division. Stantec acquired Murphy Hilgers Architects of Toronto, a 55-person firm specializing in healthcare, justice and retail and commercial buildings. It has also purchased the assets of Moore Paterson Architects, a firm of 17 people in Victoria, B.C. Stantec Architecture now has 750 people on its staff.<br>
JMP Engineering, a company specializing in industrial systems integration, automation, and controls, will be opening an office in Edmonton early in 2008. JMP has its headquarters in London, Ontario, and has five other offices.<br>
