Company news updates – Canam, Genivar

A firm that specializes in building envelope design consulting services, as well as testing and installation, has been purchased by Tremco, a major product manufacturer in the field.

Canam Building Envelope Specialists of Mississauga, Ontario has been purchased by Tremco Incorporated and will become part of its Roofing and Building Maintenance Division’s subsidiary, Weatherproofing Technologies. Zerodraft, a company related to Canam, was also purchased and will join Tremco Commercial Sealants & Waterproofing.

Genivar has acquired Algal & Associates, an Ontario-based electrical engineering services firm. Founded in 1992, Algal has approximately 20 employees in Toronto, specializing in medium and high voltage electrical engineering services. Pierre Shoiry, ing., president of Genivar, said, “These services will be in high demand for the coming years given the need to develop and modernize North America’s electricity transmission and distribution grid….” President of Algal is Feodor Alter, P.Eng.
