Canadian Consulting Engineer walked away the proud winner of a Gold Award at the Canadian Business Press Awards on Wednesday evening.
The award was in the Best Photograph category, for a hauntingly beautiful image by photographer Stewart Churchill of the dismantling of the Gardiner Expressway in Toronto. The photograph appeared in the December 2001 issue, in the feature “End of an Era.” (Check it out on this site in our Archives section.) Stewart Churchill, art director Ellie Robinson, and editor Bronwen Ledger-Parsons, share the award.

The magazine also won an Honourable Mention for “Best Art Direction of a Feature.” This honoured the spread “Detroit Industry” from the March-April 2001 issue.

Also, for the second year in a row, the magazine was nominated in the top 10 for “Best Issue” overall, which is the most prestigious category and takes account of both writing and art direction. The issue which made it to the final was December 2001.
