Barry Lester, P.Eng., recently retired vice-president and chief operating officer of Stantec Consulting, Canada West, was presented with a Canadian Engineering Leadership Award by the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary last November.
Lester was recognized especially for his role as chief engineer of Calgary’s Olympic Oval completed in the late 1980s, and for his participation on the Confederation Bridge project in Prince Edward Island, completed in 1997.
