AECOM Technology corporation has signed an agreement to acquire Earth Tech from Tyco International. The sale includes Earth Tech Canada, one of Canada’s largest consulting engineering companies. Earth Tech Canada has offices across Canada, its headquarters in Burnaby, B.C., and over 1,100 employees. As an AECOM company, Earth Tech will now be part of a corporation that has recently acquired several other prominent consulting engineering companies in Canada, including UMA, KMK, Gartner Lee and, most recently, Tecsult in Quebec.
Globally, Earth Tech had revenues of $1.3 billion in 2007 and had its head office in Long Beach, California. A press release said that AECOM plans to divest certain operations that are not in the consulting engineering service areas.
John M. Dionisio, AECOM president and chief executive officer, said: “By adding Earth Tech to AECOM, we immediately strengthen our position in our core water and wastewater markets. We will also bolster our environmental facilities and transportation businesses, while further expanding AECOM’s global footprint, particularly in the Americas, U.K./Europe, and Australia/Asia.”
