The first winner of a scholarship created in memory of the late Allen D. Williams of Edmonton was presented on June 29. The award was given out at the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies (ACEC) – Canada annual meeting in Whistler, B.C..

The scholarship is in memory of the consulting engineer who headed Williams Engineering and died tragically in October 2007 in a flying accident.

Kristel Unterschultz, Sameng won the $5,000 award which is given to a young professional of an ACEC-Canada member firm. The funds will be used to cover her costs to attend the 2009 FIDIC (International Federation of Consulting Engineers) conference in London, England in September.
