Vancouver's construction industry has risen 39% in the first six months of this year, compared to the same period last year. The value of building permits was $1.1 billion, compared to $769 million.
Vancouver’s construction industry has risen 39% in the first six months of this year, compared to the same period last year. The value of building permits was $1.1 billion, compared to $769 million.
Commercial and industrial construction showed a major rebound during the period, with over one million square feet of non-residential floor space approved. Residential construction also thrived.
Key developments that contributed to the 2012 figures include MNP Tower, a 36-story office tower at 1021 West Hastings, and the Vancouver Hilton at 177 Robson.
